1. If you got ScreenSort from the Mac App Store
If you downloaded ScreenSort (ScreenSort: Auto Screenshot, Apple ID 6827754596) from the Mac App Store, your license is the Licensed Application End User License Agreement published by Apple (the Apple Standard EULA), together with the Mac App Store Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Sections 3 through 11 of these terms supplement the Apple Standard EULA. Where they conflict, the Apple Standard EULA controls.
You acknowledge that these terms are between you and Scaile Studios only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. Billing, pricing and refund requests for Mac App Store purchases are handled by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; to the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection claims, or intellectual property infringement claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
2. If you downloaded ScreenSort from screensort.app
Merchant of Record. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
When you buy a ScreenSort license on screensort.app, you purchase it from Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited / Paddle.com Inc.), and Paddle's Buyer Terms also apply to your order. Paddle calculates and remits applicable sales tax or VAT. Scaile Studios is the maker of ScreenSort and supplies the software and license key.
Free trial. The direct download from screensort.app includes a 14-day free trial so you can test ScreenSort on your Mac before buying. We grant you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App during the 14-day trial period.
Price. A ScreenSort license on screensort.app is a one-time purchase of US$9.99, with no subscription. Paddle shows the final price, including any applicable sales tax or VAT, before you pay.
Paid license (up to 3 Macs). When you buy a license key on screensort.app, we grant you a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the major version of the App you purchased on up to 3 Macs at a time that you own or control, for personal or business use, subject to these terms. The App is licensed, not sold. You may not share, publish, resell or transfer your license key, or bypass the trial or activation limits.
Refunds (Direct purchases via Paddle).
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on direct purchases from screensort.app. You may request a full refund within 30 days of your purchase date for any reason by emailing Contact Support with your Paddle order number or license key, or by contacting Paddle directly through the link in your Paddle receipt or at paddle.net. When a refund or chargeback is completed, your license key is deactivated on all Macs. This guarantee is in addition to, and does not limit, any statutory refund or withdrawal rights you have under the law where you live.
Authenticity and auto-updates. The direct download is a Developer ID signed and Apple-notarized disk image that checks https://screensort.app/appcast.xml for updates via Sparkle. Only download ScreenSort from screensort.app or the Mac App Store. We are not responsible for copies obtained anywhere else.
3. Updates and future services
We are not obligated to provide updates, support or new versions. Your purchase includes free updates to the major version of ScreenSort that you bought (for example, all 1.x releases), when and if we release them. We decide what updates to release and when. A future major version (for example, 2.0) may be offered as a separate paid upgrade, with no promise of an upgrade discount. If we release a paid major upgrade, you can keep using the version you bought with no time limit.
Your license covers the features of ScreenSort that run locally on your Mac. At our discretion, we may offer online or cloud-based services, features that carry ongoing costs (such as third-party processing or usage-based services), or optional add-ons, including through an update. These are not included in your license, may require a separate purchase or subscription, may have usage limits, and may be changed or discontinued at our discretion. Discontinuing them will not affect the locally running features you purchased.
4. Acceptable use and restrictions
You may not, except as the law expressly permits: copy the App other than to install it as allowed above; share, sell, rent, lend, sublicense or redistribute the App or a license key; remove, disable or circumvent any trial or license check; reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the App; remove or alter any notices; or use the App to break the law or infringe anyone's rights. You are responsible for the screenshots you take and the files you organize with the App.
5. On-device AI and automatic file changes
ScreenSort uses Apple's on-device Vision OCR and Foundation Models (Apple Intelligence, where available on your Mac) to generate filenames and choose categories. These steps run entirely on your Mac; see our Privacy Policy.
- Suggestions can be wrong. Generated names and categories are automatic suggestions. They may be inaccurate, incomplete or unexpected, and you should not rely on them for anything important without checking.
- The App changes files. Within the folders you grant it access to, ScreenSort renames new screenshots and, if enabled, moves them into category folders. You can edit a name, move a file or undo a rename from the banner or the menu bar. Undo is available for recent renames shown in the App, not indefinitely.
- Keep backups. As with any software that manages files, keep backups of anything that matters, for example with Time Machine.
- Apple features. Apple Intelligence, Vision and Foundation Models are provided by Apple as part of macOS. Their availability, languages and behavior depend on your Mac, macOS version, region and settings, and may change with macOS updates.
6. Ownership
Scaile Studios and its licensors own the App and all intellectual property in it. Your screenshots remain yours; we have no access to them. ScreenSort, the ScreenSort icon and screensort.app are our trademarks. Apple, Mac, macOS, Apple Intelligence and Mac App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc. Other names mentioned on this site, such as Slack, Stripe, Linear and Cursor, belong to their owners and are used only to describe compatibility.
7. Warranty disclaimer
Apart from any applicable refund policy above and any rights you have by law, to the maximum extent the law allows, the App and the website are provided "as is" and "as available", with all faults and without warranty of any kind. We disclaim all express and implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, quiet enjoyment and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, that generated names or categories will be accurate, or that the App will work with every app, folder setup or future version of macOS.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, Scaile Studios will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, files, profits, revenue or goodwill, arising from or related to the App or the website, even if advised of the possibility. Our total liability for all claims related to the App is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the App, if any, and fifty U.S. dollars (US$50). Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions or limits, so they apply to you only to the extent permitted. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.
9. Termination
These terms apply until ended. Your rights end automatically if you fail to comply with them, or if your purchase is refunded or charged back. When they end, you must stop using the App and delete all copies. Sections 6 through 12 survive termination.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be heard exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Christian County, Missouri (including the federal courts serving that county), and you and we agree to their personal jurisdiction and venue. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of mandatory consumer laws where you live and may bring a claim in your local courts where those laws allow.
11. General
The App is subject to U.S. export laws; you agree to comply with them. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. These terms, together with the Apple Standard EULA where it applies, our Terms of Sale / Refund terms above, and our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the App. We may update these terms; we will change the effective date above when we do, and the terms in effect when you purchased your license continue to apply to that purchase.
